Sculpterra’s 2022 Mega Focus is a Grenache dominant GSM style wine. It offers plentiful aromas of plum, boysenberry, strawberry, clove, and roasted almonds with floral notes of jasmine and violet.. A chalky-dusty texture frames each sip, where red currants, roasted meat, and nutmeg come together. It is medium bodied and a perfect example of warm climate Grenache done right! This wine is so well balanced and complex,  yet supple and soft with easy tannins.

Dazzling aromas of strawberry jam, dried fig, earth and crushed pepper introduce this big Rhone style blend. Mourvèdre’s flavors are prevailing and expressive unique qualities that are only heightened with the blending of Syrah and Grenache. This is a stand out wine amongst the many Sculpterra blends, especially for those who prefer light to medium bodied red wines. The palate is so clean and pure, offering a medium bodied mouthfeel and followed by a silky finish. This wine is lifted by a fresh, mineral note that displays fruity aromas that are a beautiful expression of the east side Paso Robles ripe Rhone grapes. The wine has firm yet elegant tannins, making it enjoyable now, or able to sit in your cellar through 2026.

2018 Sculpterra Figurine is our classic trademark blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Primitivo, and 12% Merlot. It opens with aromas of raspberry pie crust, black pepper, licorice candy, lilac, baked earth and ends on toasted oak. The mirage of light red fruits provided by Primitivo and the wholesome integration of dark fruits delivered by Cabernet make this blend vibrant, expressive and all around charming. Plum, cherry soda aromas, mocha and black pepper bouquets dominate on the nose, while the mouthfeel is smoothly layered and integrated with new American oak barrels. These woody spice notes carry throughout the wine’s broad palate, decorating the savory black olive, charred meat and oregano spice taste. The wine’s overall fruity taste is offset and framed by dry and polished tannins. This wine is well worth cellaring for many years to come, but do yourself a favor and try some right now! 

(50% Primitivo, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot)

This remarkable blend shows off amazingly clean red fruits matched with herbs, spice and a wonderful oaky taste. The Primitivo provides red fruit flavors while the Cabernet Sauvignon shows off hints of mint and cedar accents; the black-cherry and cherry flavors certainly come from the Merlot grapes, while medium tannins add a great ending to the wine's lengthy finish. There is earthiness too! Notes of black pepper, green olive, dried herbs and black coffee fill the mid palate. The fruit shows up again on the finish with flavors of raspberry and pomegranate, while toasted new American oak barrels provide an alluring coating taste. This wine will age very well, and should be reaching its peak by 2024. 

(39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Syrah, and 30% Petite Sirah) 

This is a Rockstar wine! It is almost impossible to describe all the great aromas and bouquets it offers...but I’ll give it a try! The oak shines, giving whiffs of vanilla, tobacco, candied caramel, black coffee, and smoked meat. The fruit notes power their way in, giving black cherry, plum, raisin, and jolly rancher candy. Finally, the wine provides herbal and spice notes, with the taste of green olive, jalapeno poppers, green bay leaf, and rosemary. This wine will benefit from a good decanting and should reach its peak by 2029.

Be certain this wine is the most ageable wine that Sculpterra’s offers! It can age a minimum of 15 years before reaching its tasting pinnacle. I love the challenge of this bottle, the process from harvesting the grapes to filling the bottles, has taken real creative thought, and this unique wine is crafted like no other. This wine will sell out, pick one up upon release before it’s no longer available.

Massive black-fruit flavors meet colossal tannins, hefty oaky-ness and ends with a huge finish. This wine is a mouth-puckering sensation and seriously dark with red-black color and rich on the palette. It radiates with deep flavors of dark chocolate, black pepper and berry pie. Petite Sirah is the dominant player in the blend, yet Syrah and Cabernet Franc shine forth bringing weight and structure to the wine. Toasted flavors of smoke, bacon, coffee and buttered toast combine naturally with a surplus of dark fruit tone. Prune, plum, and cherry burst forth and settle in to the more peppery palette of fern, mint and dill.
