I love the challenge of this bottle, the process from harvesting the grapes to filling the bottles, has taken real creative thought, and this unique wine is crafted like no other. Massive black-fruit flavors meet colossal tannins, hefty oaky-ness and ends with a huge finish. This wine is a mouth-puckering sensation and seriously dark with red-black color and rich on the palette. It radiates with deep flavors of dark chocolate, black pepper and berry pie. Petite Sirah is the dominant player in the blend, yet Syrah and Cabernet Franc shine forth bringing weight and structure to the wine. Toasted flavors of smoke, bacon, coffee and buttered toast combine naturally with a surplus of dark fruit tone. Prune, plum, and cherry burst forth and settle in to the more peppery palette of fern, mint and dill.

The 2021 vintage marks our sixth vintage for this unparalleled an amazing winemaking and bottling achievement…The 2021 Winemaker Signature Bottle. The wine combines the biggest and boldest lots that we offer! Petite Sirah, Syrah and Cabernet Franc show intense red fruit flavors with new oak aging, which adds to the richest taste possible. The 2021 growing season was remarkable, the weather pattern led the way to an uniform grape ripening; the perfect recipe for the highest quality fruit possible. The grapes were hand harvested, and we implemented minimal winemaking interventions, creating the freshest taste conceivable.
The bottles etching shows off John Jagger’s Original sculpture entitled “Eternal Flame.” Don Landy, a local wine bottle etcher spent 45 minutes per bottle to mask, sand blast and paint each bottle. This time it’s waxed in an Antique Gold finish, an incredible look for a once in a lifetime wine. Everything with this bottle must be completed by hand and is a serious challenge. We etched, labeled, filled, corked, hand number, sign and waxed each bottle one at a time. It’s safe to say that is bottle is the most challenging wine bottle to work with in the world today! This special bottle is made in Italy and named, “Due Fondos,” the winner of Bruni Glass’s annual bottle competition! I call it “The Winemaker Signature” and I hand bottle a very limited number of bottles each year, with this vintage only 200 bottles were produced. Theses bottles are only available at the tasting room.
