This wine was created to be the heaviest, boldest, and richest bend imaginable! I selected the “best of the best” barrel lots from 2018’s incredible vintage. Cabernet Franc leads the charge with its dark-berry fruits, dusty tannins, and dense structure. Syrah adds the Hungarian oak taste of pencil wood, smoke and cedar. Followed by aromas of chocolate covered plums and lavender. Petite Sirah aged in 100% New American Oak, enhances the wine’s flavors with unbelievable notes of pink peppercorn, barbecued meats, and a coffee-like finish. The bouquets are extensive and juicy, its elegant structure expresses cherry, blackberry, ground pepper and even a mineral note framed in firm fine-grained tannins. A plethora of toasted hazelnut, vanilla and roasted almonds mark the finish. The three varieties blend perfectly together and make for a delicious package.

I’m proud to bring our fourth rendition of the coveted Winemaker Signature bottle and this time it’s waxed in Cobalt Fire Blue, an amazing look for a once in a lifetime wine. We etched, labeled and bottled the most challenging wine bottle in the world! This special bottle is made in Italy and called, “Due Fondos.” The bottle was the winner of Bruni Glass’s annual bottle competition! I call it “The Winemaker Signature” and I plan on hand bottling a limited number of bottles each year.

This 2019 vintage marks our biggest bottling yet at a total of 200 750ml bottles. We are limiting purchases to 2 bottles per customer. This bottle was the most challenging bottle I have ever worked with due to its unique shape and design. The etching shows off John Jagger’s Original sculpture entitled “Eternal Flame.” Don Landy, a local wine bottle etcher, spent 45 minutes per bottle to mask, sand blast and paint each bottle. Then we filled each bottle with the blend, corked, waxed, and sticker labeled the bottom of each bottle. My last touch was to sign and number each one. Theses bottles are only available at the tasting room. 

(48% Primitivo, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot)

2020 Figurine is a fantastic complex red wine blend, driven by amazing high-quality fruit and winemaking. Figurine, always a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Primitivo and Merlot, and this 2020 vintage leads with Primitivo as the dominant player in the blend. This energetic and fruit driven wine overflows with raspberry and cherry flavors on the front palate. Then the mid and back palate provide lush and smooth textures with an abundance of toasty accents. Though full bodied, it's equally soft in feel and leaves a dry tannic impression on the finish. Black olive and licorice candy with baking-spice bouquets float around, then a subtle sense BBQ meat and smoked sausage take over. Dark chocolate and roasted coffee flavors show up and lead to a note of lavender flower with a touch of dried pepper and herbs. This wine shows an excellent promise for long-term cellaring. It should reach its peak by the year 2028.

Our newest Primitivo Reserve vintage 2020 is a robust and powerful tasting wine. Mainly oak driven in flavor but coupled with a myriad of fruit flavors, it's full-bodied and fills its tannic frame with delicious aromas of fig, blueberry, dark-cherry, blackberry and bittersweet dark-chocolate flavors. A touch of spicy raspberry boosts the palate and extends the finish for a lasting impression. In a challenging year this wine proves that vines are resilient and often show their best character when moderately stressed. I love how this wine tastes right now, but assuredly it will stand the test of time and age for a good 10 plus years. The bouquet and mouthfeel mold together in tight fashion on the rich palate, where balanced tannins and acidity present a wine that can be paired with food or easily enjoyed as a stand-alone. The abundance of dark fruity flavors coats the palate and persists deep into the finish. Available strictly to our wine club, at just 300 cases this is one vintage that will sell out fast! 

This wine is the most ageable wine that Sculpterra’s offers! It can age a minimum of 15 years before reaching its tasting pinnacle. I love the challenge in this bottle, each process from harvest to filling the bottles, has taken real creative thought, and this unique wine is crafted like no other. This wine will sell out, pick one up upon release before it’s no more.

This blend features Petite Sirah as the dominant player in this composition. Not only is this Petite Sirah wine enormous in mouthfeel and tannins, but also aged in a NEW Appalachian American Oak barrel; delivering heaps of smoky, spice and earthy notes to this wine. Syrah, aged in a new barrel, a 500L heavy toast Hungarian barrel, offers to the wine vanilla, coco powder and marshmallow. And finally, the Cabernet Franc which aged in a one used French Oak barrel, brings dryness, puckering acidity and length to the wine. The aromas are unique, with Bing-cherry, blackberry, and pomegranate shinning through. Bouquets of white pepper, rosemary, lavender and rose petal follow to the finish. The wine is extremely dark in color, opaque in the glass and rich with layered textures. Decant this wine for the very best tasting experience. 

(36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, & 9% Petit Verdot)

This 2021 Maquette screams Bordeaux at its best! The marriage of the four estate-grown Bordeaux varieties is effortlessly seamless and works magically from the first sip. Mature ripe, rich black fruits give this wine grippy textures and density. It has heavy tannins following bottling, but they will certainly smoothen out in the years to come. My favorite part of this wine is the tart taste of cherry pie and the floral notes of rose and geranium. Black-currant and chocolate strawberry flavors mix beautifully with toasted oak and cedar bouquets and finish with a sprinkling of roasted walnuts, dark cocoa, black olive, and coffee beans. Earth tones prevail on the mid and back palate, offering oregano and bay leaf flavors. This wine is built with a confident structure and ageable tannins.

What a delightful and intriguing wine! A good Merlot is hard to come by, and this one is a keeper! It is very true to the varietal and shows a great richness and an even texture that brings out many vivid berry flavors. It’s less tannic than our Cabernet Franc or Petit Verdot, showing more like our Cabernet Sauvignon with layered textures, dark fruits, and spice notes.The wine’s color is a brilliant deep opaque red and purple indicating its high natural acidity. Dominant aromas of blueberry and blackberry are followed by bouquets of lavender, violet, licorice, herb, and coffee. The finish is steady and dry, showing nice tannins and length. Start drinking this wine at the end of 2023 and enjoy it through 2027.

This full-bodied wine is rich with dark chocolate bouquets and blueberry, blackberry, and red currant aromas. The new American Oak aging adds a hefty blanket of tannins that covers the mid and back palette. It is very ripe and profound on the nose yet restrained and balanced in the mouth. It’s undoubtedly a full-bodied and tannic win, the heaviest wine we offer! My favorite notes on this wine are the aromatic lavender and violet fragrances. Then, the taste is overtaken by black cherries, blackberries, and a hint of black pepper and allspice. There's certainly no rush to drink this. It will age gracefully for the next ten years.

How amazing is this wine! It's hard to imagine another Zinfandel with this much body, presence, power, and smooth finish...this wine is sure to impress. The two westside dry-farmed Paso Robles Zinfandel vineyards blend together beautifully and are only improved with the small addition of Petite Sirah. The nose is dominated by blackberry, chocolate cherry, blueberry, and caramel apple. The taste is seamless, bringing smoky oaky bouquets that are held together by herbs, pepper, and dusted earth. This wine is tannic, yet slightly sweet on the finish giving it easy-drinking quality. This wine will age wonderfully, reaching its peak in 2028. 

The cream of the crop and the best Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine stands alone as the peak of Sculpterra’s winemaking. This wine features all oak flavors possible! Aging in 100% new oak gave notes of pine, cedar, sandalwood, coconut, clove, cinnamon, and vanilla. The fruit showcases red currant, blackberry, cherry, and plum. There are also hints of pleasant herbaceous flavors, with notes of green olive, eucalyptus mint, and dried nuts. The back palate has a lingering truffle, mushroom, and chocolate sensation. I love the mouthfeel of this wine. It combines a rich texture with a long and lingering finish. This wine will improve with proper cellar aging, reaching its peak tasting in the year 2028.

This elite Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the best fruit from two Frankel Vineyard Cabernet blocks. The dark fruit flavors are concentrated and moderately to heavy tannins hold true to the finish. The aromas are dominated by black fruit, bittersweet chocolate, and olive tapenade flavors. Overall, a very classic example of this grape variety, this is what a reserve should taste like! It’s a mouth-filling wine with a nice gripping texture that matches the concentration of the deep black cherry, vanilla, grilled meats, and black pepper tang. Boasting fascinating aromas, with notes of coffee, plum, violets, cedar, and spice. The palate is big and full, yet at the same time soft and polished. It's instantly delicious upon release in late 2023, and it will age through 2027. 

Héroe Cabernet Sauvignon is a dependable wine year after year, showcasing the very best of Paso Robles Cabernet. Sourced from the Frankel Family Estate “Puerta Electrica” block, this wine is balanced, lively, and overall easy drinking. The vineyard has a track record of excellence; these vines have aged gracefully and give forth very consistent taste and dense structure. It’s rich, concentrated, and relaxed with super soft tannins wrapped around plump plums, black cherries, raspberries, and blueberries, and finishes with bittersweet chocolate. It is packed with red fruit and delicate oak spices that taste complex and lavish. Bottled in a screw cap finish, this wine is made to be drank upon release. Enjoyable to drink now through at least 2028.

2022 Héroe Primitivo is an incredible wine offering a ripe red fruit taste, toasted oak, and a generous mouthfeel on the finish. The nose offers candied plums and cherry cola, but more potent notes of cedar, smoke, and all-spice come in as well. The palate is enhanced with cherries and candied red apple aromas. The bouquets show flavors of marshmallow and salty dark chocolate. I love the supple tannic grip that leads to crisp fruit and ample acid. This wine is a great partner with roasted lamb and or a classic American hamburger with all the fixings. Well-built and layered with black-fruit flavors, this massive balanced wine offers blueberries and black-pepper flavors. The wine tastes amazing young but will cellar well and only improve with age. 

(46%, Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 24% Syrah) 

Sculpterra’s 2022 Mega Focus is a Grenache dominant GSM style wine. It offers plentiful aromas of plum, boysenberry, strawberry, clove, and roasted almonds with floral notes of jasmine and violet.. A chalky-dusty texture frames each sip, where red currants, roasted meat, and nutmeg come together. It is medium bodied and a perfect example of warm climate Grenache done right! This wine is so well balanced and complex,  yet supple and soft with easy tannins.

I love the enticing scent and fragrant nature of this wine! It’s an exquisite combination of dynamic fruits, mixed with sweet flavors, focused around flavors of orange peel, flower blossoms and golden raisins. Like the 2021 vintage, this wine would be great paired with spicy Thai food, or try it with dried berries, walnuts, almonds, or Frankel Ranch Pistachios. It finishes with a scrumptious tang of fresh acidity, which in turn helps balance its sweetness. We only bottled 336 cases so you better get your case right away! This is a wine that is ready for enjoyment right upon release, it is ageable and we developed wonderfully in the bottle with caramelized sweet nutty taste to follow.

This is a HUGE tasting wine, and nothing compares to the result of a well-made Paso Robles’ Petite. It’s got everything a Petite Sirah fan would want, including huge tannins that are lengthy and smooth, followed by flavors of dark fruits. The mid-palate is intermingled with a plethora of oaky bouquets. The nose burst forth with lavender flower and all-spice pepper, a combination that is unforgettable and an accurate representation of Paso Petite done right. The aromas are dominated by black coffee, smoked bacon, grilled meats, marshmallow campfire, and candied berries thrown in there too. It’s an amazing wine and calls out to be enjoyed with a chipotle-sauced cheeseburger or a meat lover’s pizza. It tastes great upon release and will continue to get better and better; it’s the most ageable wine we produce.

This unique Pinot Noir from Sculpterra Winery is truthfully a Paso Robles treasure! Hard to grow and hard to find in the Paso Robles wine region; this Pinot Noir shows the distinguished quality and splendor of ripe tastes and rich textures. The fruit was ripened in a hot summer climate giving the wine a heightened fruity characteristic. All in all, this wine was vinified into a delicate masterpiece. It tastes great young and will age gracefully. The vineyard is very distinctive, producing consistent flavors of berry pie, herbal tea, and bittersweet chocolate. The color is a shade darker than a California coastal Pinot Noir and the wine finishes with nice dimension and well-rounded aftertaste. I predict it will reach its peak taste by 2026.

This full-bodied Primitivo shows gorgeous red fruits with plush tannins that frame the palate and hold till the finish. It’s very well balanced by prominent acidity that maintains a freshness throughout the mid-palate. The blend of these two different Primitivo vineyards (Frankel & Camp-8 Road) fashions a wine complex and flavorful, truly one-of-a-kind. I find notes of cola-berry, black cherry, eucalyptus mint, ground pepper, toasted oak wood, chocolate, and all-spice. Stimulating and charming aromas of plum, elderberry, acai, and lavender make for an attractive nose. This Primitivo is a true treat!

(37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Syrah & 29% Petite Sirah) Statuesque is the darkest, richest, and biggest wine in our lineup of blends. This harmonious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Syrah comes together, producing a perfectly full and powerful wine.

Red fruit aromas of cherry, blackberry and kitchen spices with hints of stony flint create a well-structured red blend that is complex and distinctive. The front and mid palate show vibrant acidity, while the wine’s ending is tight, bone dry and tannic. Peppery flavors meet black and green olives over an underlying quality of berry fruits. Again, it has firm tannins and a prolonged finish with notes of oak smoke added to the aftertaste. This wine is absolutely full-bodied, and with 34% Petite Sirah it is a very age worthy blend. Overall, this wine has great balance, elaborate layers of ripe plum, raisin and a smooth finish, making this blend a keeper for many years. Savor it now or hold onto to it; this wine should reach its peak by the end of the decade.

Grenache is a most consistent award winner at Sculpterra Winery. This medium-bodied wine is coated with fruity goodness and finishes crisp and full. It’s lush, begins with appealing aromas of blueberry, black raspberry, and heaps of purple flowers, and contains an herbal spice note. The mouthfeel stays light on its feet and delivers ripe flavors, including a distinctive cream soda taste, tailed by lavender and hibiscus tea. There's even a small meaty reduction sauce note in the mid-palate. The fruit is the dominant force in this wine, focusing on blueberry and currant fruit. With 12% new American oak, this wine offers a slight smoke, vanilla, and caramel taste. Bottled with a twist top, this wine is ready to drink upon release, and YES, it will age for years to come, reaching its peak in 2028.

This lovely Pinot Noir wine features a strong perception of baked cherry, cranberry, and boysenberry pie. The earthy notes are brought forth with notes of cracked pepper, eucalyptus, and bay leaf. The mouthfeel features a medium-rich body on the palate, where floral lavender notes and pomegranates strengthen ripe cherry flavors. Ripe black cherry fruit married with rose petal aromas in the mid-palate. Then, the finish is accented by touches of violets and fresh-cut cedar wood. I love this wine’s crisp mouthfeel ignited by prominent acidity, which makes it a perfect pairing with Chicken Marsala.

This Zinfandel dessert wine has it all! Its balance of sweetness, acidity, alcohol, and ripe fruit flavors is outstanding. The taste is decadence in a glass; an exquisite, delicious wine with flavors of cassis, sweet cherry pie, honey, and melted dark chocolate. Cherry and jammy-plum aromas lead to a fragrant and powerful finish. There’s a subtle note of earthy spice on the back end with baked pie crust and red velvet flavors holding in the mid-palate. The texture is super agreeable and charming. It's framed with raisin and prune and wears its high alcohol with ease. Drink upon release, this wine will continue to improve well past 2030.

Aromas of apple and lemongrass transition into flowery notes, ending with hints of crushed stone and minerality. The mouthfeel showcases an intriguing textural quality that keeps the wine together in structure and finesse. Strong flavors of dried flowers are followed by ripe pears, and slight smoke arises on the finish. The savory and crisp palate is mouth-filling with a clean acidity that balances its fruit-driven texture. Overall, it’s a downright tasty wine, offering a great entryway into light-bodied, refreshing white wines. This wine is ready to be enjoyed upon release and will continue to age nicely through 2027.

I love Primitivo! It’s such an exceptional tasting wine, powerful yet refined with rich textures. This 2022 Reserve Primitivo expresses endless red fruits, balanced with a serious play of oak and upfront acidity. The aromas are clean and persistent, displaying prune, black cherry, hints of blueberry, and a decisive taste of ripe fig. The Petite Sirah adds to this wine’s longevity, giving it lasting structure and a puckering finish. Spice and floral notes are there too. It’s easy to pick up black olive, eucalyptus leaf, and oregano. Hold onto this one, it will only get better with age, reaching its peak in 2030.

(60% Mourvèdre, 21% Syrah, 19% Petite Sirah)

Chocolate covered strawberries, black-plum, lavender notes with lilac, violet, and even crushed stone aromas are expressed with this one-of-a-kind Mourvèdre blend. The Syrah and Petite Sirah add a perfect twist to a wine with a rich structure and dense taste. There’s even a delicate tropical fruit note that melds effortlessly with red fruits in the kid-palate. The taste is rich and lush yet supple, and the finishes are fresh and have tart berry flavors. A strong combination of raspberries with black-plum and wild cherry flavors follows through with a long aftertaste. The new oak complements the wine, adding hints of grilled Italian sausage that calls for a sweet and salty tomato sauce pasta. This is an ageable wine! Give it time to open up, and you be amazed with its finesse and grace. Drink upon release, this wine will reach its peak sometime 2028.

Sculpterra’s 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is an incredibly enjoyable tasting wine featuring clean, crisp tropical fruits with a rich and sleek mouthfeel and textured finish. This wine is perfectly balanced with both fresh and fruity flavors. For white wine, I’d say it’s light-medium-bodied and sports light thyme and cut-grass accents over plentiful cantaloupe with golden crisp apple flavors. Meyer and tangerine shine throughout the tasting experience. A snappy-tangy texture helps it pair widely with food. This delightful wine finds a good balance between tropical fruit richness and pungent citrus flair. The easy-going nature and fresh appeal make it easy to sip and enjoy all day long!

Sculpterra Syrah has been produced since 2006 and has garnered a long history of GOLD medals and 90+ point scores. Syrah thrives in the Paso Robles terroir, producing exceptional and rich, tasty wines. The aromas are dominated by Black cherry and ripe blueberry flavors that are embellished by bits of orange and black pepper tea. There’s no new oak on this wine, yet smoke, cedar, and toasted notes prevail on the nose, and are linked to the high quality of these grapes. The wine's acidity is juicy, and tannins are soft and well-integrated. Again, the floral notes shine forth with fresh lilac and straightforward clean red fruits. The mid-palate is exciting and easy to enjoy. Drink now and let it decant for a good hour for the best taste possible.

Our 2024 Chardonnay showcases snappy and bright acidity. Then aromas of green apple, sweet pears, peach pie, and allspice take over. The oak aging features a taste of toasted vanilla on the nose and aids the dense mouthfeel. The flavors are focused around Golden Delicious apples, quince, and even baked banana chips. I love that it is layered with mineral merits and contains a long, dry, and robust finish. Being Chardonnay, you certainly can age this wine. Bottled in April 2025, this wine will continue to improve and develop unique bottle bouquets in the coming years. I predict this wine will reach its peak taste by 2029.

Our Paso Pink Rosé is back and tasting better than ever! This amazing rosé blend of 4 grapes and 5 vineyards offers densely packed fruity aromas and hearty raspberry taste on the fresh, inviting nose that presents complex and layered. The palate is snappy and quick with red fruit, tropical qualities, root-beer spices, and even orange-rind flavors. A satisfying and versatile rosé wine that can be enjoyed by itself or accompanied with a variety of charcuterie-type foods. The wine is dominated by stone fruits that lead the way to blueberry preserves, with beautiful light fruity notes present on the mid-palate. The palate is light-medium bodied and fresh from beginning to end. The unique twist of adding 5% Viognier gives it something special on the finish that lingers with mouthwatering acidity.  This beautifully PINK hued Rosé is a joy to be enjoyed. Drink upon release through 2027.

This fruit driven Primitivo Port displays aromas of ripe fig and caramel with chocolate undertones. A non-vintage blend and containing more than 20 vintages Primitivo Port. This Port Style wine has everything you look for in dessert wine. It’s packed with aromas of ripe fig, rich chocolate, raspberry truffle, and toasted jam. This wine’s bouquet displays caramel apple and nuts, with a tender sweet and balanced finish. The wine can be enjoyed now, but will further evolve over the next 8 to 15 years. Sold in a 500ml bottle.

Sculpterra Winery is proud to introduce our first ever sparkling wine! What a lovely wine it is - concentrated with bouquets of toasted hazelnut, even bread crust and a hint of classic stone fruits. The fruit comes from the coastal regions of Central California and consist of 100% French Colombard. The fruit is grown for sparkling wine production and the grapes are picked at precisely the right time with proper sugar and acid balance in the berries.
